The unique design of the OpenFlo® catheter features two parallel, side-by-side balloons, eliminating the protruding tip found in traditional Foley catheters. By removing this tip, the catheter is engineered to better respect natural bladder anatomy and is designed to minimize the risk of bladder wall irritation or localized trauma.

Anatomical Alignment

The OpenFlo® catheter features a drainage port positioned directly at the junction of the bladder and urethra. This configuration supports continuous urine drainage by preventing the 'damming' effect of traditional tips. The low-profile design helps mitigate mechanical risks, such as mucosal spasm and trauma.

Built to integrate seamlessly into existing clinical workflows, the OpenFlo® catheter utilizes a familiar insertion technique modeled after traditional Foley catheters. By capitalizing on established healthcare provider protocols, this design helps reduce the training footprint and supports straightforward operational onboarding.

By utilizing an open-tip configuration instead of traditional side eyelets, the OpenFlo® catheter is engineered to avoid suction-induced mucosal invagination. This specialized design promotes continuous fluid clearance and helps minimize mechanical bladder lining irritation, supporting a more stable and unhindered drainage pathway.
